The the wind pulls trees to the ground and the rain stains the streets,
the lights flicker then turn black.
High pitched screams, running in the street.
Next thing some boys have lit a couch on fire in the middle of the street.
One jumps it, just missing the flame, then the next gets it just right - singed edges.
Then a siren, men in fancy shoes, flashing lights
crimson red, incendiary blue.
The kids can't be restrained!
I ran back for my camera just as the ashes disappeared in the road.
No flash, just furry,
and darkness perfectly posed.
